What is the difference between a smooth and pallet sign?
Smooth signs are one piece of wood while pallet signs are made up of several skinny pieces of wood put together to make one sign. Pallet signs are more rustic and smooth are more contemporary. Pallet signs can have some irregularities and slight height differences in between the boards. Please note that this may occasionally cause some bleeding
How do I sign-up for a workshop?
Click on the workshop that you would like to attend. Look through all the listings of signs. When you find one you like, click on it. The listings of events are in a drop-down menu within each product.
Do we have to pick our stencil before the party?
Yes, each individual person has their own stencil and each is cut and prepared before the party.
Do we have to tell you which colors we want before the party?
No and that's one of the best things about our parties. You have full control of whatever colors you would like to use. We have a large variety to pick from so sometimes it is best to have an idea before the party so you don't feel overwhelmed.
I have no artistic ability, do I have to freehand paint?
No and this is what sets us apart from many other paint parties. Our parties are fool proof because we use a special stencil. No artistic ability required!
Can I do a design not shown on your website?
Yes, custom design charges start at $5.00. You can do this two ways: 1. Fill out the custom design request and I'll put something together for you. 2. Purchase a "custom" sign in the size you want and in checkout you will fill out the box to tell me what you are looking for.
Do you have a studio where I can come and paint?
At this time, I do not have a studio. I offer in-home private workshops and public workshops at local restaurants.
Can I choose my own paint colors or do I have to paint it like the picture on the website?
You will be able to choose your own colors at the workshop.
Am I allowed to bring my own wine and snacks?
If the DIY Sign Workshop is scheduled at a hotel/meeting room venue, or at someone's home then…Absolutely! We encourage our guests to bring their favorite beverages, including wine and beer. Snacks are also welcome. Guests must be 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages at our Sign Workshops. If the DIY Creative Workshop is scheduled at a Restaurant/Bar venue, then no outside food and beverages will be allowed. However, we encourage our guests to purchase their favorite beverage, including wine and beer, from the Restaurant/Bar.
How long does a workshop take?
Most of our Sign Workshops will last 2 ½ to 3 hours.
What should I wear?
Aprons are provided for our guests. However, we do recommend that you wear clothing you don’t mind getting paint on—just in case.
Is there an age requirement?
There is no age requirement, unless specified in the event listing on our website. We have had children as young as 5 in our workshops. (Please note: We do allow our guests to bring their own wine and beer.)
Do I have to register in advance or can I just show up?
You must register before the registration deadline which is usually 5 days before the scheduled Sign Workshop.
What time should I arrive?
You are welcome to arrive up to 20 minutes early for your scheduled workshop. Anyone arriving any later than 15 minutes may not be able to catch up to the other participants.
Will I be able to do two projects at the same workshop?
We can only allow each person to make ONE project per workshop. If there are multiple designs you’d like, we suggest finding a friend to purchase a spot and make it for you.
I have a friend who didn’t register for the workshop but would like to come with me. Is this allowed?
We only allow registered guests at our workshops. Due to space and time constraints, as well as safety issues, EVERYONE attending a Sign Workshop MUST be registered; no exceptions.
What do I need to bring with me to a workshop?
Just bring yourself! We truly can’t wait to see what you’ll create!
What does it cost to register for a workshop?
Our Sign Workshops range from $24 & up, depending on the project you choose.
If my friends and I register for a workshop, will we be able to sit together?
Of course! You are welcome to email us at least 24 hours before the workshop at dnemitz@mac.com and let us know who you would like to sit with. You can also have someone in your group arrive early and save everyone’s seats.
Do you offer private workshops?
We offer private Sign Workshops for Birthday Parties, Office Parties, Bachelorette Parties, Baby & Bridal Showers, Christmas Parties, Church Group Parties, Team Building, Girls’ Night Out, etc. Please contact us for more information or available dates.
How many guests do I need for a private workshop?
A minimum of 5 registered guests is required, depending on the workshop location.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
We understand that life happens sometimes. Due to the customization of all of our stencils there are no refunds after 5 days prior to the event. If you cancel within 48 hours of your event your full registration fee can go toward any future private/public event. After 48 hours CANCELLATIONS have the option of their sign being completed by our staff at the event or picking up a DIY kit for you to complete at home.
